Professor of Surgical Oncology
👥Biography 个人简介
Robert Bhatt has investigated surgical management of colorectal liver metastases, examining patient selection criteria for hepatic resection, perioperative outcomes, and long-term survival in patients undergoing curative-intent liver surgery for metastatic colorectal cancer. His research has characterized outcomes of two-stage hepatectomy and accelerated liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) in patients with initially unresectable bilobar colorectal liver metastases, assessing liver regeneration rates and oncologic outcomes. He has studied the role of perioperative systemic therapy including conversion chemotherapy for initially unresectable colorectal liver metastases and the optimal timing of hepatic resection after neoadjuvant treatment. His translational work examines biomarkers predicting recurrence after colorectal liver metastasis resection and guiding adjuvant therapy decisions.
