Robert Bhatt

Robert Bhatt investigates the molecular biology of germ cell tumors, including the basis for their exquisite cisplatin sensitivity. His research has characterized genomic features of testicular cancer including isochromosome 12p, KIT mutations in seminoma, and the developmental biology of primordial germ cell origins. He has examined the molecular determinants of cisplatin hypersensitivity in germ cell tumors to identify clinically actionable targets for the minority of patients with refractory disease. His translational work bridges developmental biology and germ cell tumor oncology.
