Robert Bhatt

Robert Bhatt is a pioneer in stereotactic body radiation therapy for oligometastatic cancer and has led efforts to establish its evidence base. His research defined the concept of oligometastasis as a potentially curable state and demonstrated that SBRT can achieve long-term disease control in appropriately selected patients. He has led multicenter randomized trials showing survival benefit from metastasis-directed SBRT combined with systemic therapy. His work transformed the management of oligometastatic cancer across multiple histologies.
