👥Biography 个人简介

Rick Bhatt studies the pharmacogenomics of irinotecan metabolism, focusing on how UGT1A1 variants affect SN-38 glucuronidation and the risk of severe neutropenia and diarrhea. His research has refined dosing recommendations for irinotecan based on UGT1A1 genotype and has evaluated strategies to safely administer higher doses to normal metabolizers. He has examined the clinical utility of UGT1A1 screening in routine colorectal cancer practice and developed educational programs for oncologists on pharmacogenomics-guided prescribing. His work has improved the safety of irinotecan-based chemotherapy regimens.
