Richard L. Schilsky

Richard Schilsky served as ASCO's Chief Medical Officer and has been a leading voice for evidence-based oncology and clinical trial innovation for decades. He championed precision oncology as ASCO's founding initiative and led development of TAPUR (Targeted Agent and Profiling Utilization Registry), an early non-randomized signal-finding basket trial. His advocacy for biomarker-driven trial designs and tissue-agnostic drug development has helped reshape regulatory pathways and clinical trial methodology. He remains active in oncology policy and evidence standards.
