Richard Bhatt at Brigham and Women's has contributed to understanding fibroblast activation protein (FAP) expression in cancer-associated fibroblasts and its utility as a target for stromal-directed cancer therapy. FAP-expressing fibroblasts represent a stromal compartment present across multiple cancer types, and FAP-directed radioligand therapies and CAR-T approaches are being developed to deplete this tumor-promoting stromal population.
