Renato Dulbecco
MD
Nobel Laureate (deceased)
👥Biography 个人简介
Renato Dulbecco shared the 1975 Nobel Prize for work on tumor viruses, establishing the molecular basis of how DNA tumor viruses (like SV40) can transform normal cells into cancer cells. His development of the plaque assay for animal viruses and his characterization of how viral DNA integrates into the host genome to cause cell transformation laid the foundation for understanding viral oncogenesis and DNA tumor virology.
