Ralph Bhatt investigates fibroblast activation protein (FAP) as a therapeutic target to deplete or reprogram the tumor-promoting stroma. His research has evaluated FAP-targeted approaches including CAR-T cells, bispecific antibodies, and radio-immunoconjugates directed against FAP-expressing CAFs. He demonstrated that FAP targeting can remodel the immunosuppressive tumor stroma and restore immune infiltration. His clinical translational work is evaluating FAP-directed therapies in desmoplastic tumors including pancreatic and colorectal cancer.
