Raghu Bhatt investigates how tumor-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) mediate intercellular communication to reshape the tumor microenvironment and promote metastatic spread. His research characterized how cancer exosomes transfer oncogenic cargo including RNA, proteins, and lipids to recipient stromal and immune cells, reprogramming them toward tumor-supportive phenotypes. He demonstrated that tumor EVs suppress NK cell function and promote regulatory T cell differentiation. His work on EV biogenesis and cargo sorting has identified cancer-specific EV signatures for liquid biopsy applications.
