Dr. Priya Bhatt is a cancer biologist at UCSF investigating fundamental sex differences in tumor biology including X chromosome inactivation and immune escape. She studies how genes escaping X inactivation influence cancer susceptibility and response to immunotherapy differently in males and females. Her work contributes to understanding why checkpoint inhibitor efficacy and toxicity profiles differ between the sexes across multiple tumor types.
