Philippe Lambin

Philippe Lambin at Maastricht University coined the term 'radiomics' and pioneered the systematic extraction of quantitative imaging features from CT scans to create prognostic and predictive biomarkers in oncology. His foundational work established the conceptual framework for radiomics as a high-throughput imaging phenotyping approach that can serve as a noninvasive biopsy. He developed the radiomics quality score to evaluate and standardize radiomics study reporting. His lab continues to innovate in habitat imaging, delta radiomics, and AI-augmented imaging biomarker discovery.
