Philip Stephens at Foundation Medicine helped develop FoundationOne CDx — one of the first FDA-approved comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) assays for solid tumors, covering hundreds of cancer-relevant genes. His work on clinical-grade tumor genomic sequencing, interpretation of genomic alterations in clinical context, and on computing tumor mutational burden (TMB) and microsatellite instability (MSI) from sequencing data has enabled the widespread adoption of CGP in clinical oncology.
