👥Biography 个人简介

Peter Ratcliffe at the Crick Institute and Oxford shared the 2019 Nobel Prize for discovering the molecular mechanism of oxygen sensing, including demonstrating that prolyl hydroxylase domain (PHD) enzymes hydroxylate HIF-alpha under normoxia to enable VHL-mediated degradation. His foundational work on the oxygen sensing pathway has elucidated mechanisms driving cancer angiogenesis and hypoxic adaptation.
