Peter Grundy has contributed to Wilms tumor (nephroblastoma) research — the most common kidney cancer in children — including cooperative group clinical trial contributions through the Children's Oncology Group (COG). Wilms tumor is one of the greatest successes of pediatric oncology, with 5-year survival over 90% for most patients, achieved through risk-adapted multimodality treatment. Research on WT1, WTX, and CTNNB1 mutations in Wilms tumor biology has contributed to molecular understanding.
