Paul Bhatt
MD
Professor of Surgical Oncology
👥Biography 个人简介
Paul Bhatt specializes in cytoreductive surgery combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for colorectal cancer peritoneal metastases, contributing to ongoing investigation of patient selection criteria and the overall benefit-risk profile of this intensive procedure. His research has examined the PRODIGE 7 trial findings and their implications for patient selection for CRS-HIPEC in colorectal peritoneal metastases, noting that the trial failed to show HIPEC added benefit over cytoreductive surgery alone in selected patients but that patient selection remains critical. He has studied completeness of cytoreduction scores as predictors of survival and criteria for identifying patients most likely to benefit from CRS versus those where surgical morbidity outweighs benefit. His translational work examines molecular features of peritoneal metastatic colorectal cancer predicting response to CRS-HIPEC and systemic chemotherapy combinations.
