Patrick Pisters

Patrick Pisters is a world-renowned sarcoma surgical oncologist who has conducted landmark research on retroperitoneal sarcoma surgery, including defining surgical margins, compartmental resection, and outcomes after multivisceral resection for retroperitoneal sarcoma. His work at MD Anderson established the evidence base for aggressive surgical approaches and identified histology-specific prognostic factors. He now serves as president of MD Anderson while remaining active in sarcoma research.
