Patrick Bhatt has contributed to clinical development and application of bispecific antibodies in hematologic malignancies. Bispecific T cell engagers (BiTEs) like blinatumomab redirect T cells to kill cancer cells by simultaneously binding CD19 on B cells and CD3 on T cells, achieving impressive response rates in relapsed/refractory B-ALL. Understanding optimal use, resistance mechanisms, and combination strategies for bispecific antibodies in lymphoma and leukemia addresses important clinical questions.
