Padmanee Sharma

Padmanee Sharma is a leading translational immunologist who has characterized the immune microenvironment across multiple cancer types and how genomic alterations drive IO resistance. Her collaborative work identified STK11/LKB1 mutations in KRAS-mutant NSCLC as a major genomic driver of primary resistance to PD-1 blockade through suppression of innate immune sensing. She has also investigated the immune basis of IO efficacy and resistance in bladder and prostate cancer. Her clinical-translational research bridges immune phenotyping with therapeutic outcomes.
