Padmanee Sharma

Padmanee Sharma is the scientific director of the James P. Allison Institute at MD Anderson and a co-leader of translational research on CTLA-4 and PD-1 immunotherapy biomarkers. Her laboratory investigations have identified tumor microenvironment characteristics predicting IO response including regulatory T cell infiltration, immune checkpoint expression patterns, and immune activation signatures. She has led translational biomarker studies within landmark IO trials including ipilimumab-based combinations across multiple tumor types. Sharma is a globally recognized expert bridging basic tumor immunology with predictive IO biomarker development.
