Padmanee Sharma

Padmanee Sharma is a leading tumor immunologist at MD Anderson whose biomarker discovery work has fundamentally informed the clinical development of immune checkpoint inhibitors. Her research identified ICOS-positive CD4 T cells as pharmacodynamic biomarkers of ipilimumab activity and linked them to clinical outcomes. She has characterized the immunological correlates of response and resistance to anti-CTLA-4 and anti-PD-1 therapy in bladder and other cancers. She co-leads the MD Anderson Immunotherapy Platform and the Strategic Partnerships Program.
