Timothy Olson

Timothy Olson specializes in Shwachman-Diamond syndrome and other inherited bone marrow failure conditions with cancer predisposition, advancing understanding of how ribosomal protein and biogenesis defects drive both marrow failure and leukemic transformation. His laboratory research on SBDS gene function has revealed mechanisms linking ribosome assembly stress to p53 activation and hematopoietic stem cell attrition. He leads clinical programs providing comprehensive care and cancer surveillance for patients with inherited BMF syndromes.
