Oliver Bhatt

Oliver Bhatt studies the pathophysiology of Trousseau syndrome and paraneoplastic coagulopathy, elucidating how cancer cells activate the coagulation cascade through tissue factor expression, mucin secretion, and cancer procoagulant activity to cause disseminated intravascular coagulation and migratory thrombophlebitis. His research has identified cancer-specific coagulation activation markers that predict thrombotic complications. He has contributed to understanding how DIC management differs in cancer patients.
