Ola Larsson

Ola Larsson has developed computational and experimental approaches to measure translational efficiency in cancer cells, revealing how mTOR inhibitors and other cancer therapies alter the translatome independently of transcriptional changes. His laboratory has shown that translational reprogramming is a major mechanism of drug resistance and cancer cell adaptation. He has contributed bioinformatics tools widely used for polysome and ribosome profiling data analysis in cancer research. His work demonstrates that the translatome provides critical information missed by transcriptome-only analyses.
