Nitzan Bhatt

Nitzan Bhatt applies fragmentomics analysis of cell-free DNA to infer tissue-of-origin and detect cancer from blood. His research has characterized how nucleosome positioning patterns and fragment length profiles in cfDNA encode epigenetic information about their cells of origin. He has developed machine learning algorithms that use fragmentomics signatures to detect and localize cancer signals in plasma from patients with early-stage tumors. His work expands the analytical toolkit for liquid biopsy beyond mutation detection to epigenomic and structural features of cfDNA.
