Nicholas Bhatt investigates BRAF-mutated biliary tract cancers and RAF/MEK inhibitor strategies for this molecular subset. His research has characterized the prevalence and functional significance of BRAF V600E and non-V600E BRAF mutations in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and gallbladder cancer. He has evaluated BRAF/MEK combination inhibitor strategies in BRAF V600E-mutated biliary tract cancers translating results from melanoma and colorectal cancer into biliary oncology. His translational work investigates combination strategies pairing BRAF/MEK inhibitors with EGFR blockade or immunotherapy to overcome adaptive resistance in BRAF-mutated biliary tract cancers.
