👥Biography 个人简介

Navdeep Chandel has fundamentally advanced understanding of mitochondrial ROS as essential signaling molecules in cancer, demonstrating that complex III-generated superoxide stabilizes HIF transcription factors under hypoxia and activates the NRF2 antioxidant response in cancer cells. His work identified mitochondrial ROS as required for KRAS-driven tumorigenesis and showed that mitochondria-targeted antioxidants can suppress tumor growth. He has contributed to developing strategies to inhibit NRF2 in cancer cells that depend on this pathway for survival. His integrative approach connecting mitochondrial metabolism, ROS signaling, and transcriptional regulation has reshaped cancer metabolism research.
