👥Biography 个人简介

Dr. Napoleone Ferrara is the discoverer of VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor), one of the most impactful discoveries in oncology and ophthalmology. He purified and cloned VEGF and demonstrated its central role in tumor angiogenesis, providing the scientific foundation for bevacizumab and ranibizumab. His continued research investigates the complexity of angiogenic signaling beyond VEGF-A, including alternative VEGF family members and compensatory angiogenic pathways.
