Smita Nair has pioneered RNA-based engineering of dendritic cells and T cells for cancer immunotherapy, developing methods to program immune cells with synthetic mRNA encoding tumor antigens or engineered receptors. Her work on mRNA-electroporated dendritic cell vaccines has advanced into clinical trials for multiple cancer types. She has developed novel approaches to engineer antigen-presenting cells for enhanced anti-tumor immune activation.
