Nada Jabado at McGill University co-discovered the H3K27M and H3G34R/V histone mutations that characterize a large proportion of pediatric high-grade gliomas including DIPG. This landmark discovery revealed that pediatric high-grade gliomas are epigenetically distinct from adult glioblastoma, fundamentally redefining their molecular classification and identifying novel therapeutic targets in one of the deadliest pediatric brain cancers.
