Ariel Munitz
PhD
Professor, Microbiology and Clinical Immunology
👥Biography 个人简介
Ariel Munitz investigates eosinophil activation receptors and signaling pathways that mediate anti-tumor cytotoxicity, identifying that IL-33 and alarmin signals can activate eosinophils within the tumor microenvironment to directly kill cancer cells. His research has characterized Siglec-8 and other inhibitory receptors as checkpoints on eosinophil anti-tumor activity. He has demonstrated that eosinophil-mediated tumor killing involves both degranulation and the release of extracellular traps. His work reveals eosinophils as potential targets for immune checkpoint-like therapeutic strategies.
