Morie Gertz is one of the most experienced amyloidosis clinicians in the world, having treated thousands of patients with AL amyloidosis over decades at Mayo Clinic. He pioneered autologous stem cell transplantation for selected AL amyloidosis patients and developed the Mayo Clinic staging system (2004, revised 2012) widely used for risk stratification. His clinical insights on patient selection, response assessment, and long-term outcomes have shaped global amyloidosis practice.
