Steven Moore is a senior investigator at the NCI whose pooled analyses of physical activity and cancer risk across multiple cohorts have provided the most comprehensive evidence base linking exercise to reduced cancer incidence. His landmark 2016 study of 1.44 million adults demonstrated that leisure-time physical activity was associated with lower risk of 13 cancer types. His work has been foundational in establishing the 150-minute per week exercise recommendation for cancer prevention.
