Michelle Monje has transformed the understanding of pediatric diffuse midline gliomas by discovering activity-dependent mechanisms of tumor growth and identifying novel therapeutic targets now being exploited through immunotherapy approaches. Her groundbreaking work on neuron-glioma synaptic interactions has opened entirely new avenues for treating previously untreatable pediatric brain cancers. She collaborates closely with CAR-T developers to design immunotherapy strategies targeting the unique biology of pediatric CNS tumors.
