Arta Monjazeb leads clinical trials combining radiation with immunotherapy in immune-cold tumor types such as pancreatic cancer where the abscopal effect is particularly challenging to elicit, testing whether radiation can overcome immunosuppressive barriers. His research has identified radiation dose and fractionation parameters that optimize conversion of immune-cold to immune-hot tumors amenable to checkpoint inhibitor therapy. He develops novel trial designs that integrate biomarker-guided patient selection with adaptive radiation-immunotherapy regimens.
