Monica Bhatt investigates how YAP/TAZ activation mediates resistance to targeted cancer therapies. Her research has shown that YAP is a major mechanism through which cancer cells survive EGFR, KRAS, and BRAF inhibitor therapy. She has characterized upstream signals that reactivate YAP following oncogene inhibition and developed rational combination strategies to block YAP-driven resistance. Her work has significantly advanced understanding of bypass resistance mechanisms and combination treatment approaches.
