Monica Bhatt

Monica Bhatt is a specialist in desmoid tumors (aggressive fibromatosis) and has contributed to development of gamma-secretase inhibitors for this molecularly driven disease. Her clinical research helped establish nirogacestat as the first FDA-approved systemic therapy for desmoid tumors in 2023. She has studied CTNNB1 and APC mutations as drivers of Notch pathway activity in desmoid fibromatosis. Her work provides a model for molecularly targeted therapy in soft tissue tumors with activated Notch-WNT signaling.
