Mirjana Bhatt contributes to understanding the role of conventional dendritic cell type 1 (cDC1s) in cancer immunotherapy — a subset specialized for cross-presentation of tumor antigens to CD8+ T cells and critical for initiating anti-tumor immunity. Research on how cDC1s are recruited and activated in tumors, and on DC-based cancer vaccination strategies, addresses fundamental questions about initiating anti-tumor T cell responses.
