Michael Weller has been instrumental in shaping the WHO 2021 CNS tumor classification, which integrates molecular markers into glioma diagnosis. He is co-chair of the European Association for Neuro-Oncology (EANO) and has contributed extensively to consensus guidelines for GBM management. His research has clarified the predictive value of MGMT methylation across different GBM treatment regimens and explored immunotherapy strategies for glioma.
