Michael Joiner

Michael Joiner at Wayne State has made contributions to the quantitative radiobiology of the linear-quadratic model and its application to hypofractionated radiation schedules. His work on the biological basis for hypofractionation (using fewer, larger radiation doses) — which is now standard for early breast cancer and increasingly used in other tumors — has contributed to the theoretical framework underpinning modern radiation fractionation decisions.
