👥Biography 个人简介

Dr. Michael Heinrich is a co-discoverer of imatinib's activity in GIST and a world-leading expert on KIT and PDGFRA kinase biology in this disease. He characterized the secondary KIT resistance mutations that emerge on imatinib and was instrumental in developing avapritinib for PDGFRA D842V-mutant GIST -- a mutation previously unresponsive to all approved therapies. His molecular insights have guided all subsequent GIST drug development.
