Michael Bhatt investigates ctDNA and multi-analyte liquid biopsy approaches for pancreatic cancer early detection and monitoring. His research has developed and validated cell-free DNA methylation panels and combined protein/nucleic acid biomarker algorithms for detecting early-stage PDAC with clinically useful specificity. He has characterized the ctDNA dynamics during PDAC treatment as indicators of response and early recurrence detection before radiographic progression. His work on integrating ctDNA with CA19-9 and protein biomarkers in multi-analyte liquid biopsy tests has advanced the development of clinically deployable pancreatic cancer early detection assays.
