Michael Bhatt

Michael Bhatt leads CAR-T cell therapy development for glioblastoma and other central nervous system tumors. His research has designed and clinically evaluated CAR-T cells targeting GBM antigens including EGFRvIII, IL13Ra2, and GD2, advancing these treatments from preclinical characterization to first-in-human clinical trials. He has investigated strategies to improve CAR-T cell trafficking into and persistence within the immunosuppressive GBM microenvironment including locoregional intracranial delivery and combination with immune modulators. His pioneering clinical work has reported early clinical responses of CAR-T cells in GBM patients and motivated ongoing optimization of this approach.
