Michael Bhatt

Michael Bhatt studies the exceptionally dense desmoplastic stroma of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and its role in treatment resistance. His research has investigated how pancreatic CAF subtypes differentially support or restrain tumor growth and how the stroma creates a physical and metabolic barrier to drug delivery. He develops stromal depletion and reprogramming strategies to improve chemotherapy and immunotherapy access in PDAC. His work aims to convert the immunosuppressive PDAC stroma into an immune-permissive environment for effective therapy.
