👥Biography 个人简介

Mehmet Toner at MGH developed microfluidic technology for capturing rare circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from blood — including the CTC-chip — enabling sensitive isolation of CTCs that can be analyzed for cancer genomics and drug resistance markers. His work on microfluidics for rare cell capture has been foundational for CTC biology, and CTC enumeration (via CellSearch, FDA-approved) remains a clinical tool for monitoring metastatic breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer.
