Matthew Krummel is a pioneer in understanding the cellular and molecular interactions that govern anti-tumor immune responses. His laboratory developed pivotal tools for imaging immune cells in living tissues and contributed foundational knowledge on how dendritic cells prime T cells against tumors. He is also known for co-discovering the role of CTLA-4 as an immune checkpoint. His research spans DC biology, T cell costimulation, and the regulation of immune responses in cancer.
