Mathias Mann

Mathias Mann is the world's foremost expert in mass spectrometry-based proteomics and has developed many of the key analytical methods for protein identification and quantification used globally. His laboratory applies deep proteome profiling to cancer biology, revealing protein-level changes not captured by genomics, including in signaling networks, immune regulation, and drug targets. He has pioneered clinical proteomics approaches compatible with patient samples and biopsy material. He has received the Leibniz Prize, HUPO Award, and numerous other major honors for his transformative contributions to proteomics.
