Martine Piccart is a towering figure in European breast oncology and has led or contributed to dozens of practice-changing clinical trials. She was the principal investigator of the SOLAR-1 trial establishing alpelisib plus fulvestrant as standard of care in PIK3CA-mutant HR+ metastatic breast cancer. She founded the BIG research group and has shaped global breast cancer clinical trial infrastructure.
