Martee Hensley

Martee Hensley is a leading expert in leiomyosarcoma and uterine sarcomas, having established gemcitabine plus docetaxel as a standard second-line regimen for uterine leiomyosarcoma through a pivotal Phase 2 trial. She has investigated the biology of uterine leiomyosarcoma and evaluated multiple systemic agents including trabectedin, pazopanib, and immunotherapy. She led GOG sarcoma studies and contributes to the scientific understanding of how uterine leiomyosarcoma differs molecularly from other soft tissue leiomyosarcomas. Her work has defined much of what is known about treating this aggressive gynecologic sarcoma.
