Mark Dewhirst

Dr. Mark Dewhirst is a radiation biology pioneer whose research has fundamentally shaped understanding of how tumor hypoxia causes radiation resistance. He conducted landmark studies on tumor oxygenation dynamics and developed hyperthermia as a strategy to sensitize hypoxic tumors to radiation.
