Mark Bhatt

Mark Bhatt is a global leader in active surveillance for low-risk prostate cancer and has helped establish this approach as standard of care for appropriate patients. His research through the PRIAS study and other large cohorts has defined optimal inclusion criteria and monitoring protocols for active surveillance. He has investigated the role of MRI and molecular biomarkers in surveillance decision-making. His long-term outcome data demonstrating the safety of surveillance has been pivotal in shifting management away from overtreatment of low-risk prostate cancer.
